Stranger’s Roadside Act of Kindness Goes Viral
Everyone knows it takes a special post to go viral.
Erica Usinger didn’t realize she had one last week, but the rest of America did.
Usinger was driving along I-85, west of Charlotte, N.C., when she blew a tire. She had a difficult time getting to the side of the road and then waited for help with her car’s hood up. Making matters worse, she had no idea how to change a tire.
Car after car drove by, but no one stopped.
Then Teewon Vaye did.
**Update- We have located him, his beautiful girlfriend Ling Ling McNeil-Dixon reached out to me. His name is Teewon…
Not only did he stop to help, he gave Usinger his spare tire upon realizing both Usinger’s and her mother’s spares were flat, too. All told, he spent an hour changing the tires, then visiting a nearby gas station where he filled both flats. Vaye refused any gift of money when Usinger offered.
Later that day, Usinger went to social media, where she posted the entire story of Vaye’s good deed.
“What was a bad evening ended on positive note and restored my faith in humanity,” she wrote. “(Vaye) works for Wells Fargo in Charlotte. We trying to get this post shared until they can see what an amazing employee they have and what he was willing to do for complete strangers just out of the kindness of his heart.”
It wasn’t long before the post received over 35,000 likes and 39,000 shares.
Vaye later sent Usinger a video offering thanks for the kind words, though he didn’t expect it.
“I feel like if we can help a person in the smallest way possible, we all can make a difference in this world,” Vaye said in the video.
